Actually, he rides like a pro and his horse was pretty spirited.
We spent a few days at a ranch/farm (fazenda) about 3 hours from our house with 5 other American families. We rode horses and tubed a river. The camera battery died and we weren't able to take pictures of most of the trip. Our backsides were VERY sore after riding and I'm not in any pictures because I had the camera and my horse was the SLOWEST of them all, it should have been named Pokey. I was always at the back of the pack. One of the days everyone rode to a river and they took the saddles off of the horses and the kids went across holding onto the horses mane, riding bareback. It was deep and the horses had to swim. Way cool. Tubing was a lot of fun too. The safety measures they had in place were hilarious and excessive and we had done a complete set of stretching before entering the water. We were fully prepared for a nice calm ride down the river. But you know how that goes, someone starts splashing and it's all over with! : )

Alright, so here is my take: Your family was tired of all the phone calls, meetings, endless hours of not seeing dad/husband cause he was always needed by so many others.... soooo Mike "got transferred to Brazil" and his job said he "had to go or else". Well, you're not foolin' me! You didn't get transferred, you bailed on all of us so you could go on an extended, awesome, relaxing, fun like you've never had, VACATTION, leaving us all behind to pick up the broken pieces of all those who are heart broken by your "job transfer" ie/ your sister, her kids, my daughter, your fish, my family, all the girls who love Nick and Mitch, all the boys who love Jess (sorry Elise, I know there are boys who love you but you're still too young for me to try to mend their broken hearts, they just have to deal with it) and hundrends of others who are missing you all like crazy. Yep, that's it, you left us so you could jovially (is that a word?) cruise around Brazil, beaches, mountains, waterfalls, awesome city sites and just get a way from it all! Oh yeah, we're on to you Rush family! You're not foolin' anyone! :-) But, we still miss you and want you to come back soon....we promise, you can sneak back and we won't tell anyone....
